North Whidbey Mariners win Pope Tournament | Little League baseball

The North Whidbey Little League Mariners won the Henry Pope Memorial Baseball Tournament June 3-11 in Langley.

The Mariners, who play in the 8/9/10 Minor League Division, won four straight games to claim the title.

“Our kids played their hearts out,” coach Annie Cash said.

“It was a terrific and challenging season, and all the hard work paid off.”

The Mariners include Conner Cash, Ronnie Grabner, Gunnar Lutz, Calum Mannion, Aidyn McDermott, Thomas Roggen, Christopher Shashaty, Nicholas Shashaty, Anders Spencer, Will Ward and Mikey Wyman. The assistant coach is Steve Chilcote.
