Ryan Vasileff picked up an individual first and the youth girls finished second in the team standings in Running Unlimited Fitness’ first cross country meet of the season Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Whatcom Tesseract Invitational at Skagit Valley College in Mount Vernon.
Vasileff won the midget boys (11/12) 3,000-meter race in a personal best 11:20.
Coach Catie Rodeheffer said, “It was exciting to see him shine in this race as it was the first summer he was able to put in some off-season training…Ryan is very excited about being able to see the results of high effort.”
The youth girls (13/14) had four girls place in the top 15 in their 4,000-meter race: Laura Rodeheffer, fourth, 16:27.89; Carolynn Wicker, sixth, 17:48.18; Adalene Hansen, ninth, 20:00.59; and Kaitlyn Chelberg, 15th, 23:32.31.
