Injured Marine depends on pool

Published 2:22 pm Tuesday, October 11, 2011

While I was in the Marines, I severely injured my back. Surgeons removed a disc in my lower back and inserted a titanium bracket with four screws holding my backbones together. Unable to put any kind of pressure on my back, my doctors told me to try swimming for weight control and flexibility.

I went to low impact aerobics classes and it helped me physically and mentally.

Please vote for our pool levy. Many people will benefit: kids, adults and the disabled.
