Letter: My letter must have hit a raw nerve

Editor,
Well, I must say I feel highly honored to be the voice of sanity that not one, but two people felt a need to respond to my latest missive. I must have hit a nerve. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll let you in on a little secret; my letters are printed in this publication to tweak a response. The editors mostly agree with the leftist agenda but are not afraid of printing opinions that don’t align with this state’s anti-democratic bent. If they were mainstream Democrats none of my, or for that matter, any center, center-right writers would appear on these pages, it boils down to being willing to print opposing ideas. The opinion page would be boring indeed if only “I hate Trump” letters appeared.
In all of the “I hate” letters printed, I have yet to see any evidence of what they accuse him of. He is a braggart I will admit, but that doesn’t make him a liar. As far as being a dictator, he works within his constitutional authority and when he stretches that authority, there is a platoon of people to oppose him. Trump’s administration is the most open and informative administration I have been aware of in my life. He says what he intends to do, then does it. There were only rubber stamp liberal agreements when Obama or Biden overstepped their authority, and it was Al Gore and Saint Hillary that first questioned the legitimacy of the election process. They set the stage to question fair elections. While this is a question for a different time, it is telling that they were unhappy with the results of those elections.
I would be happy to debate which party acts more monarchal, and the reason for the war in Iran, but I know that the opposition will just fall back on “I hate Trump” as justification for everything. Alas, it would be useless to argue.
So please continue to find me objectionable and thank you to the editors who show more respect for ideas they probably don’t agree with even if it is only for creating more letters.
