Island County WSU is still looking for families to host Japanese students this summer. The exchange lasts approximately three weeks from the end of July to mid August. There are still a few students who need families:

Aoki Chiharu

Aoki Chiharu, 14, is from Yokohama. She has been to the US (Hawaii and Los Angeles). She would like to understand American lifestyles. Aoki wants to know what is in fashion, and to go shopping. She likes swimming, dancing and watching sports games. Her favorite kind of music is hip-hop and rock. She likes Britney Spears. She does not like dogs or cats.

Miho Aoki

Miho Aoki, 16, is from the Tokyo area. She has never been to a foreign country. Her thoughts on coming to the US: “I am wondering what I will be doing in future. I do not know exactly what I want to do in my life. I am living in a world where I can get so much information about other countries very easily. So I want to jump out of Japan to see this huge world! During this trip, I want to make friends with many people, improve my English and most of all have a lot of fun.” Miho likes dancing, rock music, movies and has an interest in drama and arts. She has no allergies or health issues.

Kei Kamiya

Kei Kamiya, 14, is from the Tokyo area. He has never been to a foreign country. His thoughts about coming here: “I don’t know much about the US, I think the best way to learn about the country is not to study from a book, but to visit and see things through my own eyes.” He has an older sister, and his grandmother lives with the family. Kei enjoys sports, Kendo (Japanese fencing) and trampoline. He plays the piano. He has a golden retriever named Ai.
