Lucille Knutsen: March 24, 1929-Feb. 23, 2018

Lucille “Lucy” Knutsen went to sleep peacefully on Feb. 23, 2018, in her home town of Oak Harbor. She was born in North Dakota on March 24, 1929.

She grew up in Cheney, Wash. and went to Eastern Washington University. That’s where she fell in love with Ted Knutsen, and the two were married in 1949.

They spent their first year of marriage in Quincy, Wash. and then off to Oak Harbor where they went to live out the rest of their lives.

They were married for 59 years and had two daughters, Kay and Kris. Lucille was passionate about gardening, collecting antiques, her family and her love of the Lord.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Ted, and is survived by her two daughters, Kay Lang and Kris Crane-Mathes, both of Oak Harbor, her four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Lucy had quite a sense of humor, and always said, “When I’m gone, please tell everyone…I tried.”

Not only did she try, but she absolutely succeeded in everything she did. She will be dearly missed.

At Lucy’s request, there will be no memorial service or flowers.
