Letter: Why would anyone want to replace this great icon?

Editor,

May 4 edition on page A16, “Replacing the Deception Pass Bridge,” a paid advertisement.

Is this a joke or do we really think this is something to do?

The bridge is an icon of the pass and if it were to be “replaced” as this ad states, it would only destroy what the bridge and the counties are. Not to mention the fact that it’s two lanes before and after the pass.

Do we really need this much highway to get to and from our island?
