Letter: Navy hasn’t learned any lessons from the past

Editor,

Apparently the U.S. Navy never did learn the lessons of Pearl Harbor.

With all these atomic bombs and nuclear ships, we are a target. You are using the people of Puget Sound as human shields.

Just like sonic testing on whales, these Growlers are adversely impacting the wildlife. Growlers, frankly, are totally worthless against this nation’s No. 1 threat, global warming.

What we need is a declaration of war on global warming, not oil-rich Iran, oil-rich Iraq or oil-Rich Venezuela.

Growlers, frankly, are totally worthless against a global warming hurricane or flood.

The U.S. Navy should seriously consider relocating to Alaska, out of Puget Sound. There is more space there for operations, plus it is closer to the action.

So I’ve got a message for the Growlers: Whidbey Island, love it or leave.
