Wolves get ready for league meet / Track

The Coupeville High School track team warmed up for the Olympic League 1A Championships by competing in a four-team meet at Sequim Thursday, April 26.

The Wolves will host the 1A championship meet, which is the district qualifier, at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4.

Sequim won the boys meet Thursday with 68.5 points. Port Angeles scored 63, Coupeville 47.5 and Port Townsend 6.

Port Angeles took the girls meet with 90 points, followed by Coupeville with 47, Port Townsend with 27 and Sequim with 16.

Jacob Smith was a three-time winner for the Coupeville boys, taking the 100 (11.53), 200 (22.96) and 4×100 relay with Cameron Toomey-Stout, Sean Toomey-Stout and Henry Wynn (45.44).

Ryan Labrador (shot put, 38-05.5) and Ariah Bepler (high jump, 6) were other Wolves winners.

Alison Wenzel was the only Coupeville girl to claim first, winning the discus (81-02).
