Wolves fall to Falcons / Tennis

Playing just its second match of the season, the Coupeville High School tennis team lost 4-1 to visiting South Whidbey Tuesday, April 9.

Jaimee Masters and Abby Mulholland earned the Wolves’ lone point by edging Erin Brewer and Oliana Stange in third doubles 6-4, 6-7(5-7), 13-11.

South Whidbey raised its record to 3-2 and remained unbeaten (3-0) in North Sound Conference action.

The Wolves, who dropped to 0-2 for the season, go to Friday Harbor (0-1) at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11.

Singles: 1, Genna Wright lost 6-3, 6-4; 2, Jillian Mayne lost 6-0, 6-1.

Doubles: 1, Avalon Renninger/Tia Wurzrainer lost 6-2, 6-1; 2, Emily Fielder/Eryn Wood lost 6-3, 6-3; 3, Jaimee Masters/Abby Mulholland won 6-4, 6-7(5-7), 13-11.
