Wolves edged by Olympic / Tennis

Dropping its second straight one-point match, the Coupeville High School tennis team fell 4-3 to visiting Olympic Monday, March 27.

The Wolves, now 0-3 on the season, will try for their first win of 2017 when they go to Granite Falls (1-0) at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28.

In the loss to Olympic (2-1), Coupeville won one singles match and a pair of doubles contests.

In third singles, Bree Daigneault cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win.

Sage Renninger and Payton Aparicio, the Wolves’ No. 1 doubles team, won 6-3, 6-4. In third doubles, Maggie Crimmins and Kameryn St. Onge collected a 6-3, 6-0 win.

Valen Trujillo (6-0, 6-2) and Fanny Deprelle (6-0, 6-3) dropped the top two singles matches.

Avalon Renninger and Zoe Trujillo (6-1, 6-0) and Tia Wurzrainer and Jillian Mayne (7-5, 6-2) fell in second and fourth doubles.
