In the Tri-district Preview Track Meet at King’s in Shoreline Saturday, March 23, Coupeville High School revealed the talent that will be on display at the actual Tri-district Meet May 16.

The Coupeville girls finished second (113 points) and the boys third (58.5) in the seven-team meet. King’s won both, taking the girls with 285 points and the boys with 259.

Freshman Makana Stone continued her strong spring with wins in the 100 meters (13.58) and 200 (27.97) and on two relays.

She teamed up with Jai’Lysa Hoskins, Madison Tisa-McPhee and Sylvia Hurlburt to win the 4×200 (1:51.05) and with Marisa Etzell, Hoskins and Tisa-McPhee to take the 4×400 (4:26.52).

Tisa-McPhee also won the 300 hurdles (51.46), and Hoskins (100, 13.72) and Erin Rosenkranz (3,200, 13:49.52) picked up seconds.

Nicole Becker, Hoskins, Etzell and Hurlburt finished second in the 4×100 (55.54).

Matthew Hampton collected the boys only win, taking the 3,200 (11:32.12), placed second in the 1,600 (5:04.5) and joined Jared Helmstadter, Dalton Martin and Sam Landau to grab third in the 4×400 (4:07.77).

Nick Streubel took third in the discus (109) and fourth in the shot (42-03.5).

Other top-10 finishes for the girls: Heni Barnes, third, shot, 26-07; fourth, discus, 62-11; seventh, javelin, 73-11; Emma Sullivan, fourth, 300 hurdles, 56.03; Courtney Allard, fifth, 100 hurdles, 22.01; Rosenkranz, fifth, 1,600, 6:09.07; Hurlburt, sixth, 200, 29.4; Etzell, ninth, 200, 30.4; Rachel Wenzel, ninth, javelin, 67-02; and Becker, 10th, discus, 45-07.
