Wind Warrior, skippered by Dean Vandament, takes 1st / Sailing

Dean Vandament piloting Wind Warrior finished first overall in the Oak Harbor Yacht Club’s Thursday night racing series May 23 and 30.

Vandament won three of the four Flying Sails Fleet races held on the two dates. He finishing fourth in the other for an overall score of 7.

Dave Steckman aboard Juan Solo earned 10 points with three seconds and a fourth, one point ahead of Chad Holcomb and Yeah Dogg who collected a first, two thirds and a fourth.

Steve Hucke and Obi Juan finished with 18 points.

Vertigo, skippered by high schooler Thomas Buys and crewed by a group of Oak Harbor High School students from the Wildcat sailing club, only competed May 30 but picked up a second and third.

Bill Brown and Swift also only sailed May 30 and finished with a fifth and sixth.

Sojourn skippered by Bruce Eastman captured the Windseeker Fleet.
