After beating Everett, their biggest rival, earlier in the week, the Oak Harbor High School wrestlers suffered no letdown Thursday, Jan. 30, when they blasted visiting Marysville Getchell 66-15 to finish the Wesco 3A North season undefeated.

After beating Everett, their biggest rival, earlier in the week, the Oak Harbor High School wrestlers suffered no letdown Thursday, Jan. 30, when they blasted visiting Marysville Getchell 66-15 to finish the Wesco 3A North season undefeated.

The Wildcats received four forfeits and won seven of the 10 contested bouts.

All of the Oak Harbor wins were by falls: Garrett Stahl (106 pounds, :45), Christian Bertram (113, 2:10), Jeremy Vester (132, 3:49), Jahleel Vester (138, 2:27), Mark Johnston (152, :28), Jacob Dugan (195, 5:43) and Ray Quinday (220, :31).

Winners by forfeit were Kekai Tarrant (160), Matt Zafra (170), Mike Laningham (182) and Jackson Constant (285).

The Chargers (0-4, 0-9) picked up their wins over Tricia Desquitado (120, 1:41), Carl Caidic (126, 1:47) and Sebastian Ceaser (145, 6-5).

The win wrapped up the Western Conference 3A North title for the Wildcats (4-0, 9-1). Oak Harbor now heads to the postseason, beginning with the subregional (district) tournament Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7 and 8, at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

The Oak Harbor girls travel to Jackson High School for a tournament Saturday, Feb. 1, then take part in their subregional Feb. 7 and 8 at Mount Vernon.
