Wildcats tripped up by Everett / Boys basketball

The Everett High School boys basketball team outscored host Oak Harbor in every quarter en route to a 78-50 win Friday, Jan. 31.

Five different Seagulls scored 12 or more points, led by Taras Fesiienko with 18.

Everett led 20-14 after the first quarter. Oak Harbor got to within 4, 22-18, then the Seagulls took off to lead 46-31 at halftime. Everett pushed its advantage to 63-41 after three periods.

Gage McLeod paced Oak Harbor with 18 points. Will Rankin scored 9; Garrett Levell 8; Jerome Dones, Kaito White, Josh Pendleton and Mason Myers 3 each; Shane Warden 2 and Brock Boyer 1.

The Wildcats (0-12, 1-17) have two more chances to pick up their first Wesco win. Oak Harbor hosts Arlington (6-5, 10-7) at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, and goes to Marysville Getchell (5-5, 9-7) at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7.
