Pushing its season record to 7-2, the Oak Harbor High School swim team overwhelmed Everett 125-54 at the Forest Park Pool Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The only event the Wildcats didn’t win, diving, was the only event out of 12 Oak Harbor didn’t have a participant.

Coach Alex Thierry said, “We mixed the girls up a bit and I am just trying to see where we have fast swims. I learned quite a bit from this meet that will help us for districts. Also, this is a good time in the season to give the girls opportunities to swim other events. It is so easy to make a lineup where everyone is swimming their best events, but it is good for morale to mix it up every now and then.”

Even with the lineup changes, Oak Harbor finished first and second in nine races, including all there relays, to sail to the easy win.

Mollie Briddell took part in four of the wins. She won the 100 freestyle (1:01.47) and 100 backstroke (1:09.78), then teamed with Sydney Dickinson, Tricia Desquitado and Irysh Concepcion to take the 200 medley relay (2:17.19) and Erica Sugatan, Concepcion and Marissa Morris to win the 400 free relay (4:1948).

Some of her relay mates also won individual events: Morris, 200 free (2:13.28) and 500 free (5:48.11); Sugatan, 200 individual medley (2:32.72); and Concepcion, 50 free (29.27).

Nicole Vogt (100 fly, 1:13.86) and Kennedy Trisler (100 breaststroke, 1:25.25) also brought home firsts.

Vogt, Trisler, Desquitado and Sophia Dickinson captured the 200 free relay (2:04.38).
