Wildcats play well at North championships / Girls golf

Posting a season-best score, the Oak Harbor High School girls golf team placed fifth in the Wesco North championship match Wednesday, May 9, at the Snohomish Golf Course.

Danalin Matro helped the Wildcats earn their best score by carding her personal best, a 109.

Beth Paul shot 113, Natasha Decker 124, Hannah Rogers 124 and Makenna Ronning 129.

Matro, Paul and Decker all qualified for next week’s district tournament May 15 and 16 at Everett’s Walter Hall Golf Course.

Marysville-Pilchuck won the Wesco match with a 463, Snohomish had 501, Arlington 518, Marysville Getchell 518, Oak Harbor 599, Everett 630 and Stanwood 722.

M-P’s Natalia Zieroth was medalist with an 82.
