Wildcats lose to M-P on Senior Night / Soccer

Oak Harbor is unable to send off senior class in final home soccer match.

Marysville-Pilchuck defeated the Oak Harbor High School soccer team 3-0 on Senior Night Thursday, Oct. 20, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

“The game was OK,” coach Mike Lonborg said. “We went down 3 to 0 in the first half and then settled down for the second half and played stronger. It was very emotional game with it being Senior Night for nine seniors.”

The Wildcats had opportunities to score in the first half but couldn’t convert, Lonborg said, and then M-P “got through a couple of times quickly and broke any momentum we had.”

Seniors playing their final home match were Cloe Amsler, Courtney Coker, Caitlyn Torres, Gillian Crossley, Ebony Campbell, Taylor Edwards, Kyra McConaghy, Lydia Peplinski and Elena Flake.

Oak Harbor (1-9-1, 3-11-1) finishes the season against Mountlake Terrace (1-8-2, 5-8-2) at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at Edmonds Stadium.
