Wildcats end season with 5-0 loss / Baseball

The Oak Harbor High School baseball team’s 2018 season came to an end with a 5-0 loss to visiting Lynnwood Friday, April 27.

The Wildcats finished with a 3-15 league record, good for sixth in the seven-team Wesco North, and 3-16 overall. Lynnwood upped its records to 6-9 and 6-12.

The Royals won the game with a four-run fourth inning. Four hits, including a two-run double by Carson Speegle, a passed ball and a sacrifice fly produced the four runs.

Speegle was also the defensive star for Lynnwood, pitching a two-hitter with six strikeouts.

He didn’t give up a hit until Caleb Fitzgerald and James Besaw singled in the sixth inning.
