Oak Harbor’s Matt Reith finished 12th and John Rodeheffer 16th in the 3,200 at the state 3A track meet at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma Thursday, May 24.
Reith, a senior, clocked a 9:37.74. Rodeheffer, the only freshman in the race, ran 9:53.51.
Seattle Prep’s Joe Hardy won the race in 8:55.22, a new state record.
Oak Harbor’s girls 4×200 relay team of Sierra Seabolt, Christina Alexander, Maura McKole and Jessica Hollins placed eighth (1:50.37) in its heat and did not qualify for the finals.
The meet continues Friday and Saturday when the other Wildcat qualifiers (Josiah Miller, 100, 200; Josh Schrum, 1,600; Cody Hernkind, long jump; Dominique Jackson, discus; and Christina Wicker, 400) will compete.
