The Oak Harbor High School track teams rounded out the regular season by placing second at the Stanwood Invitational Friday, May 8.
Lake Stevens led in both the boys and girls team scoring.
The Vikings were first among the six boys teams with 244.5 points; Oak Harbor was second at 150.
The Lake Stevens girls tallied 207 points; the Wildcats were next out of seven teams with 164.
Oak Harbor collected one individual win in each of the boys and girls meets.
Dejon Devroe, running the 800 for the first time, captured the event in 1:54.66, the fourth fastest 3A time in the state this spring. The mark is only a quarter-second off the leading time.
Devroe set the state’s best 3A 400 time, 49.42, earlier this season.
Jonalynn Horn won the girls 3,200 meters (11:52.93). She also claimed one of Oak Harbor’s eight second-place finishes among the girls (1,600, 5:32.4).
Other seconds came from Amaya Rittierodt (100, 13.38), Taylor Deconzo (shot, 34-04), Julie Jansen (discus, 98-02), Samantha Hines (javelin, 104), Hayley Lundstrom (high jump, 5), the 4×100 relay team (Matti Miesle, Rittierodt, Janae Payne, Jenna Cooley; 51.15) and the 4×400 relay team (Payne, Rittierodt, Kaitlyn Chelberg, Alana Austin; 1:52.47).
The Wildcat boys picked up five second-place finishes. In the 300 hurdles, Jared Gray clocked the state’s fourth-fast 3A time with a 40.18.
Also finishing second were Kris Medina (200, 23.65), Sebastian Ceaser (400, 53.97), Tyler Adamson (shot, 47-02.5) and the 4×400 relay team (Ceaser, John Rodeheffer, Ozelle Jackson, Josh Cote; 3:39.48).
Oak Harbor hosts the Wesco 3A North championship meet at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, and 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 15.
