The Lake Stevens High School swim team skipped by Oak Harbor 107-61 in the Wildcats’ home opener Monday, Dec. 22, at John Vanderzicht Pool.

Joe Gorman captured Oak Harbor’s only wins, taking the 200- (2:12.34) and 400-meter (4:49.04) freestyles.

Dakota Powers finished second twice (100 freestyle, 59.96; 100 breaststroke, 1:21.98), and Micah Geist was runner up in the 100 backstroke (1:08.62).

Oak Harbor’s three relays also placed second: 200 medley (Geist, Jose Cabigting, Bukolt, Powers), 2:12.39; 200 free (Cabigting, Logan Clark, Derek Volk, Gorman), 2:02.82; and 400 free (Volk, Geist, Gorman, Powers), 4:21.7.

Oak Harbor coach Erin Bull wasn’t pleased with her team’s effort: “Overall, we didn’t do very well. A lot of them missed practice last we and it showed.”

Oak Harbor (2-2) doesn’t compete again until it entertains Monroe (3-2) at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5.
