The only thing consistent about the 2015 Oak Harbor High School volleyball team is its inconsistency.

Fresh off a win over Glacier Peak, a team that came to Oak Harbor having won five of six matches, the Wildcats lost in straight sets to a Stanwood squad that had won only three of its seven contests.

The host Spartans went overtime to win two of the games, defeating Oak Harbor 26-24, 25-12, 27-25 Tuesday, Oct. 6.

“(I) never know what team will show up,” Wildcat coach Kerri Molitor said in regard her team and its seesaw season.

As can be expected in a three-game loss, the stat sheet was a bit thin, with Janae Payne leading the way with 23 assists, 11 digs and two aces.

Claire Anderson added 12 kills and 15 digs.

Oak Harbor (3-3, 3-5) plays Edmonds-Woodway (1-4, 2-5) at home at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.
