Swim: Wildcats complete regular season with win

Oak Harbor, along with its “teammate,” Coupeville’s Cole Weinstein, won 11 of the 12 events. The Wildcats also finished 1-2 in nine events and grabbed the top three spots in six.

The meet was the regular season finale for Oak Harbor (6-1, 9-3), and for the third consecutive year, the ‘Cats finished second to Marysville-Pilchuck in the Wesco North.

Oak Harbor competes at the district meet in Anacortes Feb. 11 and 12.

Nurvic said she used a “very different lineup” against the Bearcats (0-6, 1-9).

Weinstein placed first in the 200 individual medley (2:24.98) and 100 butterfly (1:06.25). Coupeville teammate Konrad Borden was fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:31.69).

Devin Schell won two events (200 free, 2:16.39;oh and 100 free, 59.98) and teamed with Price Hu, Brandon Vagt and Yale Rosen to win the 400 free relay (4:07.78).

Rosen captured the 100 breaststroke (1:14.03) and 200 free relay (1:48.65) with Ben Cardinal, Josh Jepsen and Jacob Jepsen.

Hu placed first in diving (136.6), Judd Ford in the 50 free (30.54) and Ryan Cuajunco in the 100 backstroke (1:11.88).

Cuajunco, Jarik Bainco, Brett Vagt and Kevin Levy won the 200 medley relay (2:11.79).
