For the first time since 2000 the Coupeville volleyball team will not participate in the 1A state tournament.

The Wolves were eliminated at last weekend’s district tournament by Cedar Park Christian, 27-25, 25-18, 25-21.

“We led the first game, but once we let them back in the game it seems as though we just never could get our rhythm back,” CHS coach Toni Crebbin said. “It was a very disappointing way to finish the season.”

Senior Jennifer Bailey had five kills, followed by seniors Kirsty Croghan with four and Jessica Graham with four. Senior Beth Mouw added six assists for the Wolves.

Coupeville finished the season 6-4 in the Northwest A/B and 6-9 overall. They were second behind La Conner, who went undefeated at 10-0.

The state tournament began yesterday in Yakima.
