Stanwood beats Oak Harbor 6-1 / Tennis

Jackson Wezeman collects Oak Harbor’s only win in tennis loss to Spartans.

Oak Harbor lost 6-1 to visiting Stanwood High School in tennis Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Jackson Wezeman pulled out a three-set victory (6-1, 4-6, 6-2) in first singles for Oak Harbor’s point.

JJ Mitchell in second singles (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) and Trenton Cone and Enrique Perez-Herronz in second doubles (2-6, 6-1, 6-3) each won the first set but couldn’t hold on.

Oak Harbor (0-10, 2-12) goes to Everett (4-6, 4-9) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6.

Other results versus Stanwood:

Singles: 3, Sidney Thomas lost 6-3, 6-0; 4, Nathanael Thompson lost 6-0, 6-1.

Doubles: 1, John Bird/Matthew Kolden lost 6-0, 6-0; 3, Ryan Mene/Scot Erickson lost 6-1, 6-0.
