Returning letter winners: senior Frances Empinado; juniors Caitlin Dennen, Erika Polack, Annie Salinger.

Key newcomers: seniors Elaine Aguirre (lettered in 2018), Ashley Person; juniors Mariko Johnston, Chelsea Lonborg; sophomores Jaelyn Crebbin, Kaia Crebbin.

Strengths: Energy, enthusiasm, competitiveness, desire to improve.

Weakness: Youth — lost eight players to graduation.

Coach’s comment: “I am expecting to see a lot of individual and team growth. Like last year, we’re going to continue to focus on goal setting and also work on positive self talk which are transferable skills I’d like them to all take with them off the court.”

First match: Coupeville at Oak Harbor, 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17.
