Oak Harbor Softball

Coach: Alicia Ashburn.

2019 record: 4-16; 2-12, 14th in Western Conference.

Returning letter winners: Maddy Erbe, Abi Fierro, Kayanna McLane, Maddy Tucker, Kayla Crocker, Sam Scott, Emily Wilson.

Key newcomers: senior Lucia Ayala-Bailey; juniors Asya Pressley, Anabel Thayer; sophomore Layla Roberts; freshmen Abigail Andersen, Desiree Becherer, Lydia Ster.

Strengths: Camaraderie, improved athleticism, off-season play.

Weaknesses: Inexperience, particularly pitching.

Coach’s comment: “My goal for the season is to improve our competitiveness within our program and the conference. Our defense struggled last year, so that’s our key focus in practice.

“Our program is filled with wonderful people and student-athletes who work hard and are committed to improvement every single day. The players are a joy to coach, and anyone who supports us at games will be able to see the same.”
