Tyler Snavely’s no-hitter highlighted the Oak Harbor Babe Ruth baseball team’s double-header split at Friday Harbor Saturday, May 19.

Oak Harbor won the first game 9-0 and then fell in the second 6-3.

Snavely struck out 14 and issued no walks in a near perfect game. Friday Harbor had only two base runners; the same batter was hit twice by Snavely.

Oak Harbor scored three runs in the third on only one hit, a single by Snavely. It added six runs in the seventh with the help of singles by Snavely and Allen Peruelo.

Snavely, Peruelo and Ryan Valencia each had two hits; Quentin Tungate a double; and Alex Harrison a single.

After a flawless defensive effort in the first game, Oak Harbor committed five errors in the second, including two in Friday Harbor’s three-run first.

Oak Harbor scored all three of its runs in the fifth behind singles by Preston Rankin and Valencia.

Robert Herring and Harrison also recorded hits.

Oak Harbor plays La Conner twice this week at 6 p.m., home Tuesday, May 22, and away Thursday, May 24.
