After a scoreless first half, the Coupeville High School soccer team rammed home three second-half goals to blank Chimacum 3-0 Thursday, April 20, at Mickey Clark Field.
“Chimacum played some good defense and their goalie made some nice saves to make this a much closer game than last week,” Coupeville coach Kyle Nelson said.
The Wolves beat the Cowboys 7-0 April 11.
The win Thursday also completed a three-match season sweep by Coupeville. The Wolves topped the Cowboys 4-3 March 14.
Zach Nall got things going in the latest win, scoring the match’s first goal off an assist by William Nelson.
Nelson added his own goal off a penalty kick a few minutes later.
Aram Leyva, with an assist from Ethan Spark, finished the scoring.
The Wolves (3-3, 4-7-1) will try to leap past Port Townsend (3-2, 5-5) into second place when they host the Redhawks at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22.
