The Third Annual Run IN Color race sponsored by Rue and Primavera Occupational, Physical and Hand Therapy is set for Saturday, Aug. 22, at Windjammer Park.
The event includes a 5K, which begins at 9 a.m., and a quarter-mile kids dash, which follows at 10 a.m.
Participants will be splashed with colored powder throughout the race and are encouraged to wear white T-shirts.
Each year the race raises money for a worthy cause, and this year the proceeds will go to Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor and its Dream It, Be It campaign.
Dream It, Be It provides an eight-week program for at-risk girls 14-17, helping with career goals, career support and mentorship, according to race director Wendy Rue.
Run IN Color participants can register for the race beginning at 8 a.m. the day of the event. The cost is $25 for the 5K and $12 for the kids run.
The first 100 registrants will receive a T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers.
