Twenty-seven Oak Harbor High School athletes received all-Western Conference honors, including 15 first-team choices, when the league announced its fall awards Tuesday, Nov. 19.
In the Cascade Conference, Coupeville’s Makana Stone earned second-team honors in soccer and Breeanna Messner, Hailey Hammer and Amanda Fabrizi were honorable mention volleyball selections.
The Oak Harbor football team earned the most honors, led by junior lineman Tyler Adamson, who was first team on both offense and defense.
He was joined on the first team offense by junior running back Dejon Devroe and junior lineman Jackson Constant.
Sophomore defensive back Dyllan Harris, senior lineman Rhys Mattila and junior linebackers Michael Laningham and Mark Johnston were named to the first team defensive unit.
Harris (wide receiver) and Johnston (lineman) were part of the all-Wesco North second–team offense along with senior running back Julian Faralan and senior tight end Troy Sturdevant.
Senior back Nate Stanford was a second-team defensive choice, and junior quarterback Clay Doughty and senior running back Sheyenne Sams were honorable mention on offense.
Cross country first-teamers included junior John Rodeheffer and senior Clayton Richardson among the boys and senior Alexandra Laiblin and junior Jonalynn Horn for the girls.
Freshman Laura Rodeheffer received second-team honors and Sebastian Ceaser was honorable mention.
In soccer, Oak Harbor midfielder Jennifer Turnek was one of only two freshmen on the North’s first team.
Junior defender Rebecca Pabona was selected for the second team, and honorable mention went to defenders junior Nalani Gabbert and sophomore Alyssa Cross.
In volleyball and swimming, all-league selections were not made by division but among all 10 Wesco 3A schools.
Sophomore Marissa Morris earned two first-team spots in swimming, the 200 and 500 freestyles, while junior Mollie Briddell was first team in the 100 backstroke.
In volleyball, senior Kayleigh Harper was a first-team middle blocker, while sophomore outside hitter Claire Anderson and senior defensive specialist Deanna Ruben received honorable mention.
