Powerful King’s stops Coupeville / Soccer

Defending state champion King’s blanked the Coupeville High School soccer team 4-0 Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Mickey Clark Field.

“We put up a good fight,” coach Kyle Nelson said. “Beside a lack of focus to start the game and second half, we played really well.

“I saw improved play all over the field; we are headed in the right direction quickly.”

The Knights (1-0, 2-1), led by Annie Rasmussen with two goals, scored twice in each half.

Coupeville (0-1, 0-2-1) entertains Sultan (0-1, 1-2) at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13.
