Oak Harbor’s Drea Park and her six-person crew completed the Seventy/48 race in 13:49:28.

The Seventy/48 event, which began at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 11, is a human-powered boat race that covers 70 miles from Tacoma to Port Townsend and must be completed within 48 hours.

“That was definitely the toughest race for me to date,” Park said. “My crew and I paddled into and through the night into early morning. Around the 50-mile mark fatigue and the cold was starting to get to all of us, but we kept pushing through and finished the race at 7:11 a.m. Tuesday morning.”

More than 110 teams began the race; 103 finished.

Park and company finished ninth overall.
