The lightweights were anything but in Oak Harbor High Schools’ 38-33 comeback wrestling win at Marysville Getchell Thursday, Jan. 28, in the regular season finale.

With the win, the Wildcats (3-2, 7-4) finished third in the Wesco North. Now Oak Harbor heads to the sub-regional tournament at Stanwood High School Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5 and 6.

Oak Harbor coach Larry Falcon likes the improvement of his young team over the course of the season and its chances in the postseason.

“We’re coming along,” he said. “I think we will do some shocking at the sub-regional.”

Blake McBride (132) followed with a technical fall (16-1), setting up Lym’s matching-winning pin.

After Marysville-Getchell (2-3, 4-5) took its 21-0 lead, Oak Harbor got on the board when Nick Dugin (170) won 5-1.
