Wildcats push several matches to three sets in tennis loss to Arlington

Oak Harbor High School’s 6-1 loss in tennis to visiting Arlington Monday, Oct.3, was closer than the final score might indicate.

The Wildcats, still seeking their first Wesco win, lost three of the individual matches in three sets in an attempt to upset the Eagles (7-2, 10-2).

Jackson Wezeman won 6-3, 6-3 in first singles for Oak Harbor’s only point.

Oak Harbor (0-9, 2-11) plays Stanwood (6-2, 7-4) at home at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Singles: 2, JJ Mitchell lost 7-5, 5-7, 6-4; 3, Sid Thomas lost 5-7, 7-5, 6-2; 4, Nathanael Thompson lost 6-4, 6-4.
