Oak Harbor locked up a spot in the district volleyball tournament with a 3-0 win at Marysville-Pilchuck Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The seventh-seeded Wildcats (4-5, 4-10) travel to Meadowdale at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, to meet the second-seeded Mavericks (8-1, 11-3) in the opening round of district.

Third-seeded Everett (7-2, 12-3) and sixth-seeded Shorewood (4-5, 7-7) are in the same bracket of the double-elimination, eight-team tournament.

The winners (7 p.m.) and losers (5 p.m.) meet at Meadowdale Thursday, Nov. 7, for the second round.

The tournament concludes Saturday, Nov. 9, at Glacier Peak High School. Three teams qualify for state.

Oak Harbor thumped M-P (1-8, 2-12) 25-15, 25-15, 25-14.

Hailey Beecher handed out 34 assists, leading to 18 kills for Kayleigh Harper and 12 for Claire Anderson.

Harper also collected three aces and five blocks.

Coach Kerri Molitor said, “Good to end the season on a win. The girls played well, and we are looking forward to playing next week.”
