Oak Harbor falls in season opener / Baseball

Not much went right for the Oak Harbor High School baseball team in its 11-1 loss in five innings to Ingraham at the Northwest Athletic Complex in Seattle Saturday, March 10.

The Rams took control early with a seven-run second inning; they scored single runs in each of the other four frames. Ingraham pounded out 10 hits and mixed them with two walks, two errors and a hit batter to roll to the non-league win.

The Wildcats mustered only two hits, back-to-back doubles by Donny Kloewer and Thomas Anderson with two outs in the fourth inning, resulting in Oak Harbor’s only run. They were also the Wildcats’ first base runners. Oak Harbor’s only other base runners was Andrew Dixon, who walked in the fifth.

The Wildcats begin league play with Everett at 7 p.m. at Shorewood High School.
