The Marysville Getchell High School girls basketball team steadily pulled away from visiting Oak Harbor for a 45-35 win Friday, Jan. 16.

Although the Wildcats lost, they were able to revive their offense after two tough games when they scored a combined 21 points.

The Chargers (1-2, 7-6) led 9-5 after the first quarter and hung to a slight lead throughout. They led 21-16 at halftime and 31-22 after three quarters.

Julie Jansen paced Oak Harbor with 11 points, while Rashanna Graham and AnnaBelle Whitefoot scored seven points each. Deja Bunch added four points, Janae Payne three and Lydia Peplinski two.

Oak Harbor (0-3, 1-12) will attempt to win its first Western Conference game when it hosts Marysville-Pilchuck (0-2, 0-12) at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21.
