After winning all four of its games and a tournament title the previous weekend, the Oak Harbor High School summer baseball team had the opposite result at the 32-team #EarnIt Tournament June 22-24.
The Wildcats dropped four games and saw their record fall to 6-10.
The Seattle Wave used a six-run second inning to jet by Oak Harbor 8-4 Friday, June 22, at Seattle’s Lower Woodland Park.
Donny Kloewer powered the Oak Harbor offense with a double and triple, driving in one run and scoring two.
Thomas Anderson and Kyto Morrow added RBI singles; and Andrew Dixon, Joseph Dixon and Caleb Fitzgerald all singled.
Later that evening, the Wildcats lost 8-1 to the Boys of Summer.
Chase Ogden rapped a double and single, Kloewer singled twice and Austin Boesch had a base hit.
The Northwest Prospects Academy Tugs defeated Oak Harbor 6-4 Saturday at Bellarmine Prep.
Although Oak Harbor out-hit the Tugs 11-8, NPA bunched its hits to overcome a 3-1 deficit and defeat the Wildcats.
Taylor Rummel had a double and single; and Anderson, Morrow and Ogden recorded two singles for Oak Harbor.
Boesch and Kloewer also singled.
The Tacoma NPA Tugs slipped by Oak Harbor 7-6 in eight innings Sunday at Enumclaw High School.
Boesch and Anderson both slugged three hits, including doubles, to pace the Wildcats. Boesch stole two bases and scored three runs, and Anderson drove in two.
Kloewer had two hits, one a double, and added two RBI and stole three bases.
Ogden, Rummel, Fitzgerald and Andrew Dixon singled.
