OHHS Football

Senior lettermen: Sam Wolfe, Justin Counts, Paul Kirk, Ian Sinchak, Denzel Massey, Zack Ayer, Kyle Mellows, Judd Ford, Kyle Frank, Robert Beadles and Aaron Boesch.

Juniors: David Pederiva, Matt Burgoyne, Peter Franssen, Josiah Miller, Justin Everett, Brent Ryan, Tucker Lundstrom, Kevawn Brooks, Nick Ferrell, Josh McVey, Cody Hernkind, Ben Miller, Mike Washington and Connor Meyer.

Sophomores: Isaiah Trower, Ian Kolste, Michael Lebelle and Jeremy Foster.

Special awards (voted on by the players): Offensive Player of the Year, Miller; Defensive Player of the Year, Ford; Captains, Ford, Wolfe, Counts and Beadles; next year’s Captains, Miller, Washington, Lundstrom and Hernkind.

The Wildcats, coached by Jay Turner, finished 3-4 in Wesco and 6-4 for the year.

CHS Football

Coupeville, under first-year coach Jay Silver, finished 2-8, 0-7 in conference play.

Oak Harbor Tennis

Senior lettermen: Josh Evans (four years), Victor Stricklin, Marvyn Sionson, Maric Sobreo, Michael Serna, Geoff Worley, Max O’Dell, Brandon Vagt, Ben Cardinal and David DeGuzman.

Other letter winners: Harrison Miller, Cameron Bester, Ben Harrison, Eric Gerber and Will Southard.

Special award: Captain, DeGuzman.

Oak Harbor, coached by Horace Mells, finished 4-12.

Coupeville Tennis

Lettermen: Ben Hayes, Chase Bates, Ben Wehrman, Esteban Hernandez, Nic Anthony, Sam Weaver, Larry Hurlburt, Nathan Lamb, Jason Knoll, Brandon Kelley and Konrad Borden.

Special awards: Captain and Most Valuable Player, Hayes; Most Inspirational, Bates; Most Improved, Hernandez; Coach’s Award, Wehrman.

Ken Stange’s club defeated Friday Harbor for the league and district crowns.

OHHS Volleyball

Senior letter winners: Jordan Faralan, Kelsey Terrazas-Cooley, Amanda Blau, Katelyn Bristow, Janessa Ramos, Mandy Kepner and Kristine Bouchard.

Other letter winners: juniors Christina Alexander and Janine DeGuzman, sophomores Roshel Muzzall and Taylor Nienhuis, and freshman Kayleigh Harper.

The Wildcats finished 14-7 for the year and 7-3 in Wesco, good for first in the 3A North. Oak Harbor, coached by Kerri Molitor, placed third in the district tournament and qualified for the state tournament. The Wildcats went 1-2 in their first trip to state since 1991.

CHS Volleyball

Coupeville, coached by Toni Crebbin, finished 4-10 in league and 5-11 for the year.

OHHS Soccer

Senior letter winners: Bri Peterson, Kiah Ching, Katie Duhrkopf, Clarissa Abadesco, Lily Mosolino, Morgan Dutton, Brighton Pruss, Millie Goebel, Jordan Boucher and Kaitlyn O’Neill.

Other letter winners: juniors Jessica Bruns and Maura McKole; sophomores McKenzie Schneider, Jember Jansen, Ashley Everett and Sarah Young; and freshmen Chelsea Atkinson and Annie Leete.

Oak Harbor, coached by Jeff Laiblin, finished the year 1-13, 2-14.

CHS Soccer

Juniors: Cassidi Rosen-krance, Grace LaPoint, Amanda Montana and Emily Burchfield.

Sophomores: Stephanie Hilkey, Vanessa Bernales, Cassie Babcock, Anna Bailey, Kelsey Miranda, Amanda d’Almeida and Haley Marx.

The Wolves, coached by Mike Thornton, ended 2010 4-13, 2-12 in conference play.

Swim and Dive

Letter winners: Akasha Trisler, Tori Nickerson, Ciara Hu, Abby Rankin, Irysh Concepcion, Karina Concepcion, Kennedy Trisler, Therese Desquitado, Tricia Desquitado, Angela Johnson and Leanne Empinado.

Oak Harbor, coached by Erika Miller, sported a 6-5 dual-meet record and finished second in district and 11th at state.

Coupeville’s Rachel Weinstein turned out and traveled with Oak Harbor. She had two top-three finishes in district and was eighth in the state 2A 500 free.

Cross Country

Senior letter winners: Michael Kincy, Adrianna Royal, Abigail Leete and Allison Duvenez.

Other boy lettermen: Matt Reith, Caley Powers, John Kaltenbach, Joshua Schrum, Wyatt Homola, Nathan Miller, Clayton Richardson, Thomas Honeycutt, Adriel Eckart, Chris Opdyke and Mitchell Jackson.

Other girl letter winners: Christina Wicker, Hannah Bressler, Alexandra Laiblin, Taylor VonGrey, Olivia Meyer, Heather Dale, Carlie Kenny, Mackenzie Jackson and Emily Bain.

Special awards: Coaches’ Award, Miller and Duvenez; Most Improved, Stacy Jappert and Kenny; Most Valuable, Reith and Royal; “XC” Award, Ryuta Meany and Bressler; Rookies of the Year, Powers and Laiblin.

Both the boys and girls, coached by Eric Peterson and Andy Wesley, qualified for state. The girls finished second in league and district and then placed third at state, a school-best.

The boys, after placing fifth in league, jumped to third in district and qualified for state where they placed 16th.

Coupeville senior Tyler King, who trained with Oak Harbor and previously lettered for the Wildcats three times, won the league, district and state titles.
