The Oak Harbor High School tennis team nipped visiting Monroe 4-3 Tuesday, Oct. 9.

“Once again my singles players carried us to the end,” Wildcat coach Tino Gutierrez said.

Oak Harbor won three of the four singles matches to power past the Bearcats (6-6).

The Wildcats (6-4) go to Mariner (0-11) for a 3:30 p.m. match Friday, Oct. 12.

Singles: 1, Nick Krantz won 6-3, 6-3; 2, Nathaniel Thompson won 6-1, 6-0; 3, Elsian Atienza lost 6-4, 4-6, 10-8; 4, Nathan Merrill won 6-3, 6-3.

Doubles: 1, Ezra Franklin/Micah Franklin won 6-3, 6-1; 2, Ridgely Briddell/Samuel Peek lost 6-1, 6-4; 3, Yuji Caballero/Ethan Snell lost 0-6, 6-4, 7-5.
