Marysville-Pilchuck scored with nine minutes left in the match to sneak by the visiting Oak Harbor High School soccer team 1-0 Friday, April 17.
Chris Correa-Aviva launched the winning goal from 35 yards out.
It was “a nice shot to the upper corner of the goal which was impossible to stop,” Oak Harbor coach Brian Thompson said.
The Tomahawks (3-4, 4-5-2) out-shot Oak Harbor 20-7.
“That put us on the defensive most of the game,” Thompson said. “Our defense did a good job containing them.”
Oak Harbor (1-4-1, 1-8-1) challenges Edmonds-Woodway (4-2-1, 6-3-2) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.
