Teams from all over the Pacific Northwest met at Fort Nugent Park Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and 24, for the 10th annual 3v3 Rock On! Soccer Tournament, but it was the local players who dominated the action.
The tournament included 66 teams playing on 30 by 40-yard fields for two 12-minute halves with no stoppages.
The event also included goalie wars, which were so popular this year, an extra session was added Sunday, according to River Powers of the North Whidbey Soccer Club.
The 3v3 tournament included 12 divisions (B/GU8-10, BU9/10, BU11/12, BU12/13, BU14/15, BU16/17, BU19/MO20, MO30/40, GU9/10, GU11/12, GU13/14, GU16-18).
Whidbey Island teams that finished among the top two in their divisions are as follows:
1st place BU14/15: Sliders (Oak Harbor: Zach Brown, Ethan Cain, Travis Mason, Lance Mason).
2nd place BU14/15: Moist Boyz (Freeland: Seth Daly, Ari Rohan, Lake Smith, Silas Batiste).
1st place BU16/17: Country Clubbers (Oak Harbor: Seth Gluth, Alex Waner, Kyle Truex, Andrew Franssen, Eric Jensen).
2nd place BU16/17: Clockwork (Oak Harbor: Kegan Snell, Cameron Costner, Chaz Purdy, Josh Coe, Kurtis Zylstra).
1st place BU19/MO20: Pussy Cat Dolls (Oak Harbor: Caley Powers, Dakota Powers, Gavin Stewart).
1st place MO30/40: (ZSZ) United (Oak Harbor: Zane Mays, Zach Mays, Sean VonPusl).
2nd place MO30/40: Coupeville OGFC (Coupeville: Sean LeVine, Robert Wood, Kyle Nelson, Mark Bundy, Michael Francart).
2nd place GU11/12: Guardians of the Goal (Oak Harbor: Avery Carlson, Maizie Chapin, Tiana Jackson, Kylie Geist, Miranda Maskell).
1st place GU13/14: Ninjas (Oak Harbor: Gracie Hiteshew, Brianna Rodriguez, Anna Rutherford, Bethany VanSant, Hailey Ovenell).
2nd place GU13/14: Goal Diggers (Oak Harbor: Danielle Lonborg, Autumn Coker, Jessica Vester, Adi Gribble, Lindsey Roberts).
1st place GU16-18: United We Stand (Oak Harbor: Jennifer Turnek, Sammy Lizotte, Jaelyn Walker, Baily Post).
2nd place GU16-18: We Give Up (Oak Harbor: Nalani Gabbert, Sabrina Wilk, Hayley Lundstrom, Lauryn Plush, Alyssa Eden).
In goalie wars, Snell won the U15-18 division, and Drew Washington won the adult division.
