The Oak Harbor American Legion AA baseball team defeated visiting Arlington 7-4 Thursday.

The Oak Harbor American Legion AA baseball team defeated visiting Arlington 7-4 Thursday.

The win lifted Oak Harbor’s season record to 4-3 and evened its league mark at 2-2.

Ryan Byrne led the way for Oak Harbor, picking up the win on the mound and going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, run and three RBI.

Byrne gave up just two earned runs in six innings, struck out four and walked three. Jay Stout pitched the seventh for the save.

Oak Harbor pushed across five runs in the third, highlighted by RBI doubles from Byrne and Justin Counts, to take control.

Counts finished 2-for-3; Peter Franssen was 2-for-3 with two runs; and Gabe Clark was 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI.

Oak Harbor travels to Anacortes for a 5 p.m. double header Monday, June 14, then returns to Anacortes for the Steamer Invitational Thursday through Sunday. They open the tournament with Ferndale at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 17.
