A win in second singles was the only point for Oak Harbor in its season-opening 6-1 loss to the visiting Lake Stevens High School tennis team Tuesday, March 17.

AnnaBelle Whitefoot picked up the Oak Harbor point. After winning the first set 6-2, she registered one of the day’s only two shutouts with a 6-0 win in the second.

In other singles play, Makenzie Perry lost 6-1, 6-1 in first singles; Tamia Rios lost 6-3, 6-1 in third singles; and Alyssa Eden lost 6-1, 6-2 in fourth singles.

In doubles, Hannah Gluth and Ellysa Bonganay lost 6-0, 6-2; Erina Horikawa and Emma Lerch lost 6-3, 6-1; and Patrice Woodworth and Lauren Aspery lost 6-4, 6-3.

Oak Harbor (0-1) entertains Lynnwood (1-0) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19.
