King leads EWU to win, earns conference honors

Coupeville High School graduate and former Oak Harbor High School cross country runner Kyle King was named Big Sky Conference Athlete of the Week this week.

King led his Eastern Washington University team to a first place finish in the Clash of the Inland Northwest meet held Sept. 5 at Mead High School in Spokane.

King, a sophomore at EWU, finished second in the meet, running the 6,000 meters in 20 minutes, 20 seconds, which was 10 seconds behind the overall winneer, Makus Geiger of the University of Idaho.
