Senior Jacob Jepsen closed out his stellar Oak Harbor High School swimming career by placing seventh in the 200-yard freestyle at the Washington State High School Swimming Championships Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17 and 18, at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

Jepsen was joined by six teammates at the state finals and the Wildcats placed 17^th with 40.5 points. Lakeside of Seattle took the title with 311 points, edging second-place Mercer Island (300), coached by Oak Harbor graduate Chauntelle Johnson.

Jepsen also placed 18^th in the 100 backstroke (58.07), and linked with his junior brother Josh Jepsen and sophomores Caley Powers and Kevin Levy to place 12^th in both the 200 medley relay (1:43.47) and the 200 free relay (1:32.26).

Josh Jepsen finished 12^th in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.5) and 13^th in the 200 individual medley (2:02.33).

Powers was 23^rd in the 100 butterfly (56.44) and Levy 27^th in the 50 free (23.41).

Junior John Kaltenbach placed 19^th in diving (159.6) and teamed with Levy and freshmen Toren Wood and Dakota Powers to earn 24^th in the 400 free relay (3:42.69).
