The Goldfish swam by the Water 'Possums 2,743-2,666 in the 10th annual North Whidbey Aquatic Club Navy-Gold Intrasquad Meet Saturday, Sept. 22.

The Goldfish swam by the Water ‘Possums 2,743-2,666 in the 10th annual North Whidbey Aquatic Club Navy-Gold Intrasquad Meet Saturday, Sept. 22.

The Goldfish were led by Swimmer of the Meet Kenneth Morrow, who won five events and set team records in the boys 12-and-under 50 back (33.88), 50 breast (37.49), 50 fly (31.87) and 100 individual medley (1:12.52).

Team records were also set by Emily Huffer in the girls open 50 free (28.15) and Laura Rosen in the girls open 400 free (4:38.94).

Other event winners were Casey Cabigting, Jerrin Concepcion, Josh Jepsen, Lindsey Middleton, Kyto Morrow,  Olivia Tungate and Cole Weinstein.

Madelyn Coonan received the RelayBig Award for dropping five seconds in the free relay to 26.75 and dropping 13 seconds on back leg of medley to 32.66.

Swimming 100 percent individual personal records were Kyle Coonan, Madelyn Coonan, Trina Desquitado, Mary Middleton, Kenneth Morrow and Lawrence Zapanta.

Clocking 100 percent relay PRs were Cabigting, Concepcion, Kyle Coonan, Madelyn Coonan, Carlo Deniega, Caitlin Dennen, Breona Eisner, Logan Hamlin, Jeron Kosbar, Rachelle Lara, John Middleton, Mary Middleton, Kenneth Morrow, Rosen, Cavan Schmid, Christy Thompson, Brett Vagt, Molly Vagt, Nichole Vogt, Shamus Warden, Weinstein and Zapanta.

Gold cuts were achieved by Mollie Briddell, Casey Cabigting, JD Cabigting, Kyle Coonan, Micah Geist, Michael Johnson, Kosbar, Mary Middleton, Ken Morrow, Jillian Pape, Michelle Robinson, Ella Schroeder, Brett Vagt, Lauren Vagt, Molly Vagt, Nichole Vogt, Warden and Zapanta.

Those posting silver cuts were Angele Dennen, Trina Desquitado, Sophie Dickinson, Sydney Dickinson, Samantha Hines, Chloe LaRue, Brynn Schmid, Cavan Schmid, Noah Allison and Baelee Whitinger.

Competing in their first meet were Kyla Allen, Alyssia Grose, Patrick Caldwell, Alyssa Coonce, Asia McPherson, Kyto Morrow and Caitlin Lundy.

The North Whidbey Aquatic Club is a competitive swimming program of the North Whidbey Park and Recreation District. It includes swimmers of all abilities and ages from 6 through college.

Tryouts occur Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the city pool from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. New swimmers should be able to swim a length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. The first two weeks are free.
