Girls golf: Oak Harbor grabs 6th in 25-team tournament

The Oak Harbor girls golf team placed sixth out of 25 teams at the Suncadia Tournament in Cle Elum Tuesday, April 26, then took second out of four teams in a league match at Kenwanda in Snohomish Wednesday, April 27.

The Oak Harbor girls golf team placed sixth out of 25 teams at the Suncadia Tournament in Cle Elum Tuesday, April 26, then took second out of four teams in a league match at Kenwanda in Snohomish Wednesday, April 27.

The Wildcats carded 407 strokes at Suncadia to trail first-place Burlington-Edison with 357.

Annie Leete paced the Wildcats with a 97, good for 13th overall. Millie Goebel shot 100, Sasha Olson 101, Bre Roderos 109 and Mara Cortez 121.

Glacier Peak, with 97 Stableford points, won Wednesday’s league match. Oak Harbor had 74, Lynnwood 66 and Mountlake Terrace 53.

Olson tied for fourth with 20 points, while Goebel collected 19, Leete 14, Roderos 13 and Cortez eight.

The Wildcats are off until the Wesco 3A tournament at Whidbey Golf and Country Club May 9 and 10 at 1 p.m.
